Unfortunately

Unfortunately we know a 10 month old baby with very aggressive bilateral retinoblastoma.

Unfortunately she's going through chemo once a month, and evaluation under anesthesia just as frequently.

Unfortunately she's going to lose one of her eyes, possibly both.

Unfortunately there isn't much we can do but think good thoughts and knit. I made this little hat for her for later this spring and summer. Rachel's hair has started to fall out from the chemo and she needed something pretty to cover her little head.

All sicknesses like this tend to cost a lot of money, so friends of the family are trying their best to raise money for the family. I'll be putting a lot of records up on Ebay to sell for them and I'll let you know when they go up. Locally (in MA) a friend will be selling candles to raise money, and they are hoping to raise some money at their HS reunion this year. If you are interested in helping them out, please let me know and I can send you more information, or you can read more about Rachel at her CaringBridge blog.
