Beads, Harumph

Somehow I decided, at 11PM last night, that it was a good time to finally figure out how to make the crocheted beaded ropes. Out come my itty bitty hook (1mm US11/12), my itty bitty beads (size 15, maybe too small), and my itty bitty thread. Internet instructions, check! Tired eyes, check!

When Amber and I went to Crystal Blue Beading Co. last fall/early winter she got a magazine showing her how to do it, but picked it up so quickly and said she didn't really need the instructions. I asked her to show me, but she said there wasn't really much to show... you just do it. That easy. Uh yeah, I don't think so.

RecentlyDani learned how to do this same technique... on the same day she learned to crochet. Same deal:

Me:Oooh, I so want to learn, teach me.
Dani:It's really nothing, you just have to try it.
Me:Okay, but maybe you'll show me sometime.
Dani:Sure, but everything is so little that you won't be able to see anyways, just try it Johanna.

I quit when my fingers started to fall asleep! After a few attempts with a few different sets of instructions this is how far I got. Ladies, do you believe me now. Come over and show me please! Oh, and maybe I'll get larger beads and life will be easier... but I doubt it!
