Jofrog is Knitfrog!

I took Kaya and Pal out to the park this morning for a photo shoot in their costumes! 159 pictures later (and a few videos too), I was able to pick out my 12 favorites... that's a bit nuts for one blog post, so I'm going to post some more pics over at Kaya's site "Jofrog's Tadpole". Sorry for the overkill, but really, could you have not posted any of these pictures?
More pics at Jofrog's Tadpole!Happy Halloween!

I "made" Kaya's costume using a youth sized hooded sweatshirt. So easy and so comfortable!
My mom had made this carrot for Kaya's pony... it's perfect for bunnies too!
...and fish? Bunny doesn't think so!
Glug glug yum! It's orange like me!
Pal is showing off the bag I made for Kaya. It came as a panel, and I did a Frankenstein sewing job on it, but it will work for tonight.

Etsy has so many cool things, hidden features, and fun ways to browse. One that I didn't know about for a long time (or didn't really take the time to check out) is the treasuries.
Regular Etsy users (buyers and sellers alike) can go in and make a grouping of their favorite Etsy items for everyone to see. These treasuries are often where they find the items for Etsy's front page.
In browsing through the treasuries today, I found this one with my shoes in it! Go check it out:

I think it's safe to say that when one orders interfacing in a 100 yard roll, one's craft no longer just a hobby! Did you ever wonder what a 100 yard roll of interfacing looks like, well here it is:
It's also extra long, so it's almost like 300 yards of interfacing... that's going to make a lot of baby shoes!
The only problem is it's way too much fun, and I can't remove it from our front hallway. It's currently Kaya's (and Mike's) favorite toy!
Phew, all this play is tiring... what a great place to rest!
No Longer A Hobby

I'm coming up on my FIVE year blogging anniversary... this is no time to let the blog die! I met another blogger at a wedding yesterday who has let her blog go. It wasn't giving her what she needed, things got a bit nasty, it wasn't the community for her that she wanted it to be, and that it had been when she started blogging. That made me a bit sad.
I've come very far in the last five years. Some of you have been with me through all of it. I wasn't married, I wasn't a mom, I knit! I certainly didn't sew when I started this blog, and now here I am, five years later, owner of a baby shoe business. When the knitting became something I only did once a week at Knitsmiths I felt like there was not much left to say here... how much can you say about shoes after all? Well, I guess we'll see, because I'm not ready to say goodbye for good!
I do still knit on Sundays, and in the odd moment here and there, and Kaya needed a warm hat for this fall weather, so knit I did.
This hat was made from Sunshine Yarns' S.America sock yarn, doubled on a US 4. No real pattern, really... it's just a hat! This hat is so warm, and so soft, and Kaya just loves it. The first matching mitten is completed, and maybe I'll get to the second one before it snows... maybe!
Here are a few more pics. These were taken a few weeks ago when Kaya was having fun being a ham for the camera. Enjoy:
This is Just Ridiculous!

For those of you who've been following for a while, that isn't "Buddy"... it's our new friend "Pal"... soon to be introduced for real.
