First off, thank you to everyone for the amazingly warm comments! We feel so loved by the knitters of the internet! This little one is very lucky to be around so many knitters, she's just smothered in handknits. Most of her little outfits have feet, but I've been grabbing ones without so that she can wear her little socks! Most of them are still big on her, but they still do the job! I've got another pair almost finished for me, and then of course a matching pair will have to come! I finished the first one last Sunday (the day before Kaya was born) at Knitsmiths and cast on for the other to be my "labor sock". The Knitsmiths doubted that I'd be knitting in labor, but I did get past the cuff and an inch or so down the leg before my concentration was lost. Pictures to come when they are finished, but you can see the first one here on the Knitsmiths site. (Photo credits go to Alison!) Off to tend to the baby, happy knitting, I'll be knitting during naps!Smothered in Hand Knits

Our lovely Tadpole has emerged into the living breathing world! She was born Monday, December 4th, at 11:22PM after an induced labor because of a pre-eclempsia scare. Everyone is doing wonderfully. Her name is Kaya Nonalyn Parker, and she was a healthy 7lb 5oz, and 19.5" long. She loves that she was born into a world with an amazing "Circle of Friends". We both thank you all again for the fabulous blanket! It kept her so warm in the cool hospital. ...but she's not sure how she feels about bundling up for a ride in the car! More info will come, but for now, it's time to rest!Welcome Tadpole!
