Just in the nick of time, I finished my April Socks. Sock of the Month give me an A! Thanks again Chrissy for being my sock motivation!Give Me an A-

It's not much. There has been a lot of sock knitting this month, but not many finished ones and only one finished pair. I guess that sets up May for lots of Brownie Points!

It's not old, borrowed, or blue. It's a new project! Okay, so it's a bit old, I got the yarn ages ago, (somewhere around June 2004), and knit one little project with it, but now it's time for the real project. This is definitely a side project until I finish seaming the Fountain Lace Cardigan. After that point I'll start showing progress pics. Any guesses?Something New

More than half seamed. How long will it sit like this? I'm off to visit some babies tonight, so it looks like it will have to continue to wait. Any bets on how long it can linger in this state? So Close!

Sorry to be all lacking in details and stuff yesterday. Let's see how I can do filling in the gaps: The yarn is Sunshine Yarns colorway "Grapevine". I love it! The pattern is Falling Leaves from Knitty. Well written, well thought out, I love it! I am knitting them both at the same time on a 40" 2.5mm needle, and loving it! Train was beyond words amazing. To say we loved them would be the understatement of the week! Happy Knitting!Resolving the Vagueness

Oooh, the lacy socks, they are so pretty! Two at a time, toe up, genious. I wouldn't have expected to be this far on one of them, and now both are on their way to the finish line... they are walking to the finish line, not running, but they are doing it together. See... There is definitely other knitting to catch you up on, but not right now because I'm off to work and then we are going to see Train tonight in Boston. Two friends backed out last min, so we have two extra tickets in the Orchestra section. Wanna come? I'm totally serious, first person to e-mail me can have them at face value.Lacey Socks

I finally took the little bit of time needed to sew in the sleeves on the baby bolero last night. This thing is just so darn cute! I love it! It's such a quick project, it makes a great new baby gift... although be sure to finish it before the baby gets here or it won't fit! Overall, this project gets an A+!Itty Bitty FO

Someone left an annonomous comment last week that the sleeves don't fit into the armholes and that the finished measurement is not the 9" required. Thanks for the tip, but when I checked their math it came out right and mine fit in perfectly. I'd check your gauge again... even a slight difference in a project so tini may make the difference.

I have the first self-striping skein of yarn that Dani ever dyed. It's Kool-aid dyed. The first time didn't work out and it was overdyed. (Read about it all right here.) She hated it, I loved it... it's been sitting in my drawer ever since. In my effort to not really start a new project until I finish the Fountain Lace Cardigan (last piece more than half done), I'm working out of the stash... the sock yarn stash mostly. Lots of little socks, the baby bolero out of Terri's leftovers, and now a little sweater with Dani's yarn. I'm using a pattern from Dalegarn Book 124 for a simple top down raglan using fingering weight yarn. Despite the size two needles, it's flying right along. Let's see, how many other projects can I finish before the Bamboo Cardi is done? Should I set up a pole?Vintage Sunshine Yarns

I should have known better than to promise you a FO today! Instead I worked on tying up some loose ends. First off, the second front for the Bamboo Fountain Lace Cardigan! Woo Hoo! Then I finished two socks that were on the needles. One kid sized, the second was the toddler sized one from last week... a bit bigger now. The toe is still not grafted so that I can try it on him today. Let's hope it fits this time! Who knows what I'll knit tonight. Baby Bolero Sleeves? Fountain Lace sleeve? Cast on for a new sock? We'll see tomorrow. Like sands through the hourglass, these are the yarns of our lives!I'm a Good Doobie

There is no trick photography around here. No storing up pictures to be able to blog about a project for longer. You can be pretty sure that if I post a picture, it was taken that morning, or the night before. That said, check out the progress on "Baby Bolero". I can't imagine that I've even put two hours into this project! It knits up so quickly. I know that it's a tini tiny sweater and impractical and all because the baby will grow out of it so fast, but really... if a project takes all of three hours, start to finish, I think the effort is well worth it. What a cute newborn gift! I'm teaching until late tonight, but who knows... there could be a FO tomorrow! How is yours coming Dani? Real Time Photography

So sue me! One provisional cast on, six rows, and three increases in... I had to do it! Baby Bolero is now officially a WIP. I did get through all of the armhole shaping on the Fountain Lace Cardi first though, and I'm working towards the neck shaping. ...not that I have to explain myself!I Couldn't Resist

April 10 2006
I tried, really I did, but the Fountain Lace Cardigan is not flying off of my needles. When I sit and work on it, it goes quickly, really. I have to do ten repeats of the lace pattern before I shape the armholes... I'm at 7. Not so bad, but no reason why I couldn't have finished it. I even had knitting time this weekend... which was mostly taken up by socks. Socks: Did you know that I have FIVE PAIRS of active socks on the needles right now? FIVE!!! I'm in need of a sweater that isn't the Fountain Lace to distract me though, so Thursday night I packed up this little bag to go out with me, and then did the right thing and left it at home. You can bet that this is the next project though! I need some knitting time with others to plug through this and stop having it hang over my head. Wanna come over and knit?Monogomy is Not My Thing

April 7 2006
Chugging along on one project makes for boring blogging... Limited kntting time adds to that! I cast on for the second front last night and knit for almost an hour... Hopefully I'll make some good progress at Knitsmiths on this one Sunday. Can you believe that I have NOTHING in the works for me... okay, so I have those Falling Leaves socks, but socks don't count. Lots of ideas, nothing on the needles. Sigh. Fountain lace cardigan first... fountain lace cardigan first... I think I can, I think I can!Chugga-chugga-chug

April 6 2006
I finished one of the two sample socks for my magic loop class last night right after I came home from the class. Now I'm off to try it on the little guy before I make another. I'm just guessing on the numbers here. Any toddler moms know how long they knit their kids' socks before decreasing for the toe? I did just over 3.5"... we'll see today! One Little Sock Down

April 5 2006
I went a little sock crazy yesterday! I've had my eye on these four skeins of yarn for a while, (along with about ten more), and finally yesterday I let them come home with me! Ooh sock yarn, what a temptress! Don't believe me, check out Anna! She can't ever let a skein pass her by without buying it! Along with these I bought the new One Skein book. Two friends of mine have this book, so I knew where to go if I wanted to make anything from it, but now I have plans to make FOUR patterns from it! I think it was time to get my own copy. In the interest of full disclosure, I did get one more thing, but it's already knit up so you'll have to wait on that one. Aren't you dying to know? One thing I'll tell you is that it isn't sock yarn. I may knit quickly, but not that quickly! *Anyone want to hazard a guess what movie the title is refering to? Hint: Not only is it my favorite movie, but it is Sandy's too.Sock Me, Sock Me, Sock Me, With That Deviant Behavior*

I finished the first sleeve for the BamBoo Fountain Lace Cardigan! This sweater knits up fairly quickly, but I just can't find the motivation to knit on it so every piece is an effort on it's own. I knit a sleeve so that I could start seeming. I now have the back, one front and one sleeve done. I figured I could put together one side of the sweater, knit the second front, sew the second shoulder seam, and then start the collar concurrently with the second sleeve. Do you ever do this, or is it a knitting no no?Three Out of Five Ain't Bad

The color is all wrong, but what do you expect for a rainy morning?

Just in time for opening day the "Ted" sweater is done! Let's all take a minute to remember Ted Williams. Okay, now onto the knitting! It's amazing how even a little baby sweater, (and this sweater is little!), can produce so many ends! I think it was definitely worth it for the end product though, don't you? This thing is so darn cute! I just love it! The hood and those ears are what make the sweater. Otherwise it's just a drab sweater with nice lines and a cute zipper. I looked all over for something to show off the hood for you. The leftovers from my Maple Trellis sweater were willing to step up to the plate. Okay, so now for the details: Welcome Ted!

Thanks for stopping by, now go PLAY BALL!
