How can it be?

How can it be that I've been so on top of everything for this whole wedding and I'm still running around like crazy a few days before?

I've been working on the Dale baby hat, but mostly crafty wedding things.  I finished my wedding sandles and also Mike and I have been working at night together on the favors.  We made chocolate roses out of hershey kisses.  They are so cute.  Don't worry, I've been taking pictures and I'll be sure to share them as soon as I can.  Of course the camera will be coming with us to Mexico too.  I can't wait.

I'm going to try to update tomorrow (but only if I have pictures).  If not this is the last post by Miss Jofrog.    Wish me luck!

The day is SO CLOSE

So, as the wedding date quickly approaches, what do I do?

Do I freak out and cry?  No.

Do I run around like a chicken with it's head cut off?  No.

Do I interview for a new job?  Of course.

Do I start the Dale of Norway ladybug hat? Of course.  (The colorwork portion is already done, just smooth sailing to the top now!)

Really I've been very lucky that all has gone well for this wedding, unfortunately I can't say the same for this blog.  I've gone from blogging (and having an internet connection) every day, to two times a week, sometimes three.  I went from having pictures, to not having pictures imbedded but having a great camera, to having pictures again, to my computer at home dying so I can't get the pictures that I have taken off of it.

I would obviously choose blog problems over wedding problems, but I'd really like to have no problems at all.

Jury Duty is Over

Although they started the morning saying that they were almost definitely going to need jurors for both the civil and criminal courts today, and that there was a good probability that we would be needed, they sent us home at noon!  As much as I would have been happy to sit on a jury for a day, I'm glad to be able to do other things, like give blood!  There must be something wrong with me.  I feel as if most brides, ten days before their wedding, would not be attending jury duty and giving blood!  Consider me a good citizen.

So, no one guessed what I'll be doing with the baby ull... It will be the Dale ladybug hat.  That sweater is the reason I started knitting.  I saw it in the window of my LYS and thought "I need to knit that".  The little buddy that I crocheted the hat for will be getting this one as well.  (A baby can't have too many hats, and I'll make it big enough to fit him for two winters.)  His mommy is an entomologist and I know that she'll love it.

Off to give blood.  Send your good wedding thoughts my way, we are almost to the single digit countdown!

The days are flying by!

The wedding is really sneaking up on us! So much to do, but not much that we can do right now. A lot of it is last minute things! Ahh. I'm starting to feel the pressure a bit.

My friends helped me out with that this Saturday night though by taking me out for some good, old fashioned, bachelorette fun! No digital pictures, but trust me, it was a good time! There were so many other bachelorettes at the club that we went to! I guess it's that time of year. Somehow it made it all so much more real. I'm ready, bring it on!

As for knitting, Pauline is so much fun! I really enjoy knitting that I have to think about. She's almost to the armhole shaping on the front, see:

No update expected for Wednesday. Why you ask? ...because I have jury duty. That's right, less than a week and a half before my wedding, I have jury duty. Sounds like fun! Hopefully it will be a quick day, but I'm not holding my breath.

Kicking off Sewing Sunday a Bit Early

So Alison, did you know that I can sew as well? Last night I was sitting with lots of dpns and a pair of ripped blue jeans and I created this:

Now everything can be all neat and tidy and I'll never need to waste time finding a matched set again!  Oh sewing is so rewarding!

What will it be?

I went to A Good Yarn yesterday and picked up a lot of yarn, patterns, and a book that I've been eyeing for a long time. This was among the haul:

What will it be? Anyone that guesses correctly will win my respect! Answer on Monday.

Oh the doors that are open to me now

I had been waiting to join the New England Knit Ring because I wasn't able to put pictures on my blog because of the photo hosting problems but as of tonight I can once again post pics (although of course I left the house to fast to remember to take any today)!  Please welcome the newest member, gif file and all!

Now I'm off to fight for my dog's right to run off leash at the park.  I hope that you have an equally exciting evening!

Men-along is Men-agone

Thanks to everyone for participating in the men-along!  It was a great time and I'm so glad that so many people were interested in knitting for their men!  If we were starting it now I'd say that anything from the newest Knitty would apply... yes, you'd be wearing it, but lets be real... it's really for him!

All of my projects are coming to an end all of the sudden.  I was sitting on my couch, feeling very sad for myself that I had nothing to knit and then remembered Paulina!  She was started so long ago and left to sit alone for a while.  I picked her up and I love the subtle intricacy of the pattern.  You can get it for free here.

The other good news is that I'm in the process of signing up for photo hosting so no more following links to pictures, they will be right here for you to see!  I'm 90% sure that I'm going to sign up with PBase, but if anyone else has any thoughts or suggestions I'm very open to them.  Thanks in advance and look forward to pictures on Monday or Wednesday!

Grace Under Fire

Someone lit a fire under me because Grace is just speeding along! She was languishing with her back almost done for so long that she can't even believe all of the attention that she's been getting. Grace is so eager to please that she is knitting herself while I am away. I'm sure of it, how else could I be here already? My goal is to be wearing this on Friday... can I do it? Of course I can because Jofrog is Knitfrog and that's got nothin' to do with froggin' out progress!

Serape es Finite

I finished the serape jacket from the Summer 04 interweave knits last night!  I got buttons for it today and then left the sweater at the yarn store!  Doh!  I'll swing by to pick it up tomorrow, sew on those buttons and add it to the FO list!  Yeah!  I feel like I've been finishing things like crazy lately after langushing in the land of WIPs!

I picked up Grace (from Knitty) again and I'm finishing up the bottom front.  I'm altering the pattern to do short rows rather than binding off so that I can pick up the stitches for the two fronts.  Less seaming means finished faster!  It's warm now and I'm ready for it.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their long weekend and fireworks!  A weekend at the beach was just what our family needed.
